Hello, here's my predicament. I'm new to remixing & producing and at this stage I'm playing around with various software.

Right now I'm trying to spruce up an original multitrack with some extra stems from other sources (same song, different recording sessions). I don't know the BPM of the original multitrack, but it's a tiny bit faster than the other stem packs. I've already fixed that with stretching. Keep in mind I did NOT record them on Stagelight.

Now, I tried to add effects on some of the stems, like Gater, however the internal BPM setting completely screws up the exported WAV because it decided to stretch it to 120 BPM (the default value), and the exported WAV does not match the other stems' tempo.

I realize that Stagelight is not strictly an audio editor, but this shouldn't be a problem considering all it can already do. I want to be able to:

  • import a sound
  • add effects
  • export it and have its tempo stay exactly the same, independent of the project's BPM setting

That's not too much to ask, is it?

Have you tried disabling the time stretching feature in the Audio Editor for the imported tracks?  This should ignore the projects BPM settings

On the bottom left click the arrow and now a you can unselect the ‘stretch’ option 🙂

If you need a screenshot,I could upload one .

Check also SL YouTube channel, there are some great videos there.

Oftopic , the editor seems a little basic at the moment!
