With StageLight 3.8 we’re releasing an update that unlocks entirely new workflows and integration scenarios – making StageLight part of much larger setups than before.
The key feature in StageLight 3.8: the new API
Version 3.8 introduces the first official StageLight API.
This allows StageLight to be controlled from external systems and integrated into existing workflows, for example:
- Bitfocus Companion
- StreamDeck
- studio and broadcast environments
- streaming / YouTube / Twitch setups
StageLight is no longer just an app – it becomes a building block in your workflow, including true tactile control via buttons, macros and controllers.
Full documentation and examples can be found here:
New: Scan colors with your iPad camera
StageLight now allows you to scan a color directly using the iPad camera and apply it instantly.

Practical use cases include:
- scanning physical gel cards like LEE or Rosco
- capturing the mood of a room
- matching colors from a screen or projection
- adapting lighting to an existing environment
This makes color matching faster, more intuitive and much more practical in real-world setups.
Fixture Library update
The Open Fixture Library has been updated, adding:
- new fixtures
- refreshed and maintained definitions
A solid update that complements the API-focused release.
iOS 26 design updates
StageLight has been visually aligned with iOS 26, improving system integration, readability and overall consistency.
New training dates available
New StageLight training sessions are available here:
https://stagelight.app/index.php/trainings/
If none of the listed dates fit your schedule, feel free to contact me directly.
Why the trainings are now paid
The content and structure of the trainings remain unchanged.
The fee mainly exists to increase commitment and ensure that registered participants actually attend.
Special participant benefit
By attending a training, you are entitled to a Training License:
- 45 days of StageLight Ultimate
(instead of the standard 14-day trial)
You can:
- use this license yourself
- or pass it on to a friend, colleague, or team member
This means even existing Premium users gain real value from attending – while also helping grow the StageLight network.
The Training License gives plenty of time to:
- revisit the training content at your own pace
- test new workflows in real-world projects
- explore StageLight without time pressure
- confidently decide which license best fits your needs
Enjoy StageLight 3.8 –
and as always, feedback is very welcome.
